Kohberg has two bakeries and more than 500 employees. This makes Kohberg the biggest Danish-owned bakery.

Meeting the future production requirements Kohberg in Taastrup collects bread from five production- and packaging lines, from where the products are transferred into the palletising area, 24 hours a day.

In 2009, the company realized the need to meet the future production requirements. “Basicly it was a choice between two solutions, a traditional palletising solution or a robot palletising system”, says Claus D. Larsen, technical manager.

Low overall cost, high degree of capacity and reliability

“After exploring the possibilities we chose a traditional palletising solution from DAN-Palletiser”, says Claus D. Larsen, technical manager.

Low overall costs, high capacity of 240 stacks per hour/ 4800 crates per hour, and reliability were the main reasons for this choice.

The palletising solution is based on a standard palletiser, palletising from five lines at the same time. Kohberg stacks the plastic crates in an existing crate stacker. DAN-Palletiser collects 4 stacks at a time, after which the stacks, via a transfer car, are carried to the palletiser. The stacks are then transferred to the pallets supported by side guides.

Overall control
At the same time DAN-Palletiser has developed an overall control to ensure a complete overview - the bakers at Kohberg can place all orders into the system. This makes it possible for all employees in the production, via a computer screen, to follow the production plans.
