Palletising of grain-based products such as flour, flour mixes and cereals

Lantmännen Cerealia´s brands i Denmark are Amo and Kornkammeret. Amo accounts for the majority of sales in the flour mix categories, and Kornkammeret is a successful ecological brand.

The B2B brand is called HavneMøllerne, and the main part of the products are produced on the mill in Vejle havn. HavneMøllerne demands a high degree of flexibility and reliability to meet the present and future production requirements and to achieve a satisfactory logistical handling. DAN-Palletiser focus on solving the manufacturer´s demand for palletising equipment by delivering a custom-made palletising solution.

 

Optimal palletising solution needed

Havnemøllerne in Vejle collect flour from three production lines, from where the products are transferred into the palletising area. Havnemøllerne realized that the old palletiser was worn-down and had to be replaced.

“Basicly it was a choice between two solutions, a traditional palletising solution or a robot palletising system”, says Heine Jørgensen, manager.

“After exploring the possibilities we chose a traditional palletising solution from DAN-Palletiser. Low overall cost, a satisfactory capacity and reliability were the main reasons for our choice”, says Heine Jørgensen, manager.

A traditional palletising is a much more reliable solution

Robot palletising and traditional palletising cover different needs. A robot is relying on a gripper to lift the product, but if this is not needed, a traditional palletising is a much more reliable solution. A palletiser never lifts the product but shapes the layer with a moto- rized pushing arm, unloading the layer on the pallet via a loading plate with low friction. This ensures steady pallets and undamaged products.

Built to order
The palletising solution is based on an MK3 palletiser, palletising three different products at the same time. The overall solution was custom-made to meet Havnemøllernes´ individual demands.
