3000 cartons of Jägermeister are daily being palletised on a rented palletiser from DAN-Palletiser.
The company of Hans Just imports, produces and sells a great variety of international brands within wine and spirits to the Danish and the other Scandinavian markets. The bottling plant in Copenhagen produces well-known brands, such as Jägermeister and
Rose´s, the latter a very popular, non-alcoholic ingredient for cocktails.
Optimal palletising solution needed
In 2009, the company realized that the time had come to automate the production.
Manual palletising and only few employees was not an optimal solution, and a job rotation was difficult to introduce.
“Basicly it was a choice between two solutions, a traditional palletising solution or a robot palletising system”, says Bjarne Rasmussen, site manager. After exploring the possibilities, Hans Just chose a traditional palletising solution from DAN-Palletiser.

Rather rent than buy
“A robot palletising system is a very expensive solution and we were convinced that a traditional palletising solution was more reliable. On top, we found out that DAN-Palletiser offered a palletiser based on a rental solution. We thought it was a much better option to rent instead of buying”, says Bjarne Rasmussen, site manager.
Hans Just A/S collects the cartons from two production lines, from where the products are being labelled and then palletised. 500 square metres
Approximately 2,5 mill Jägermeister and 1,5 mill Rose´s are produced on the bottling plant each year, this on a 500 square metre area. It is not much space to work in, but DAN-Palletiser used the MK1 palletiser, which demands very little space.

“Low overall costs, high degree of capacity and reliability were the main reasons for our choice of the rental solution, but there are other advantages: There´s no investment up front, and we can buy the palletiser later or return it. The rental agreement also includes a service agreement, but actually we can easily manage everything by ourselves”, says Bjarne Rasmussen, site manager.
